| 12 cars left The Harvester, Pontypool for the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway Transport Festival. At last the sun was shining but as we approached the mountains dark clouds and mist appeared. The first "port of call" was the cafe and a nice cuppa, toast or crumpets. Later on the sun came out and at this point we departed on the train with our free tickets for "Whistle Inn". Unfortunately for some they had to walk along the
boggy wet path for 1/2 mile to the pub as they had no free tickets. Richard enjoyed his leisurely stroll and never complained once. The day turned out very hot and bit boring for the youngsters as there was not a lot to do. We all wound our way home at 4 p.m. with a commemorative engraved metal plate.
