Six cars met at Nantgarw Hill on the way to the show at Tonyrefail. Richard was lucky to get there as he had a flat battery not only on one but his two MGs but he managed to turn up on time. Dave missed us and ended up going to the show on his own and pulled up in the space we saved him. Lester was so late he missed the first round of teaand Jan was not allowed in because of being a little late but we all sat together, except the three musketeers Bob,
Carl and Louis because of space. We had twelve cars in all and really missed our bunting.
This is the first time we have been to a show where Phil has made a fuss of a dog that was walking past - he must be getting soft in his old age. The weather was great and the ground was firm. There were a lot of people there and the numbers were so good because Tredegar show was cancelled. There was a small bit of auto jumble and the usual side shows. The setting was great with the mountains in the background. Richard spent a bit of time polishing his car
and then he polished Phil's. All was going well for him until a bird flew overhead and done what birds do best, right across his own car, that made everybody laugh except Richard of course.
Sue won an Eeyore donkey for Sylvie who collects them. I must say I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the show. Everybody was having a good time. Half way through some of us went swimming at the leisure centre swimming pool except Sylvie who would not swim for fear of putting everybody to shame with her well toned body and to be honest I have never been in a pool that was so clean. Even the changing rooms were clean and heated. It was perfect.
Three little children wanted to sit in Richards's car, so with the parent's permission I took some photos. They were very pleased. About four o'clock attendance plaques were given out which were nice brass horse brasses and even the cars that had not booked in got one. The stewards of the Glamorgan car club were very friendly and helped us line all the cars up - even the late ones. We set off for home at about 4.30pm and managed to go in different
directions but caught up with each other near Llantrisant.
