Barry Festival of Transport
14th June 2009

We met at Forge Lane as arranged. Tony had a problem with his engine. Due to the expertise within the Club we were able to fix it, thanks to Francis and Kingsley. We then made our way to Coryton where we met the others, who had an eventful trip to the meeting point.
On arrival at Barry we were shown to our parking spot, which was right on the front of the field, alongside the Bus Stop. This turned out not to be the best position as it was noisy and smelly from the exhaust fumes. As we started to put up the gazebo Louis, Chris, Carl, Tony and Bob arrived to park behind us. It was nice to see that some of them had brought along their wives.
We had fabulous weather and some of us decided to walk to Barry and had lunch. During the course of the day Katie was bitten. With some help from St John’s ambulance, she was soon feeling better. As the day went on the need to tinker with one of the cars became too much to bear so we set about Kingsley’s car to look at the distributor. We made some adjustments however, when it came time to leave there was still a problem. Richard and others managed to
put this right.
Yet again another fabulous day out, plenty of classic cars, buses and stalls. Looking forward to next year’s show.
