Fourteen people turned up for the run. We met at Forge Lane at 1930hrs and after the usually messing about, like Haydn writing Vitesse on the back of Richards car in dust we set off for Barry Island. When we arrived we parked along the side of the sea front together as there were not too many cars about. After a brisk walk to the sea wall and a few photos later we headed back to the cars to where we found an open chip
shop. Phil and I being the fools we are never noticed the sign saying one way and nearly went up the wrong way to park the cars off the main road. Once we had all got our supplies of chips we headed down to the Knapp and parked in the car park along the sea front where we could see the fishermen. The weather was good and not as cold as Newport, which surprised me. Then out came the tea and coffee, sauce, bread and butter - we were well sorted.
The Children had great fun playing on the front with their torches while we had a good natter and talk about the various cars in the group, jumping in and out of the different cars to examine the different points about all of them, like which had the heavest clutch, what colour were the dials, who had the biggest boot and which one closed smoothly.
Well it was soon time to go and we made our way home except for Haydn, who took a wrong turn and ended up in Bridgend. The Company was good, the Journey was safe as we all kept a steady speed and a good time was had by all. |
