Kington Show
22nd August 2010

We met at eight o’clock at the Harvester in Pontypool. Wayne was there to meet us and pass over the gazebo. Four cars left on the way to Kington after establishing that none of us knew the way. Brian came to the rescue with the trusty sat nav.
The weather was sunny and warm and when we arrived we were shown to a spot near the static machines. It was not long before the gazebo was up and the tea was on the way. Richard and Phil had a little polish of their cars, a job that had not been done since the club holiday to North Wales.
It was then time to walk around looking at the auto jumble and other things on sale. There were a lot of cars at this show including steam, military, bikes and push bikes and also a lot going on all day in the arena. Richard soon found a new car to inspect going over it with a fine tooth comb. Phil measured the height of the exhaust as it was a Midget about the same age as his, if not a couple of years younger. Brian and Sylvie had a table set up to support
the Help The Heroes campaign and this was very popular with the public. It rained for less than a minute but not enough to put the tops up on the cars and in the words of Winston Churchill “Never was so little done by so few”.
The time seemed to go very quickly and it was soon time to pack up and head for home. Richard led the way and took a wrong turn but managed to get back in front before we all split up with a wave goodbye.
