This year the Glamorgan Classic car club held there show at
Aberdare Park in the Gadlys. Five cars met at the Crown pub at
Pontllanfraith near Blackwood. We left just after nine and the
weather was cloudy but not raining - this never lasted long and
before you knew it, it was tipping down. When we arrived we
could see that the cars were being lined up on the path in the
park, right beside the grass - this was good because if we had
parked on the grass I don’t think we would get off again.
We put the gazebo up in record time and were soon drinking
tea or coffee. There were other members who turned up as well so
we ended up with eight cars. The park has good potential - plenty
of room, a big pond, and good views. The Children went to see
the ducks, the girls went to town to spend some money and then
went onto the pub to watch the F1. They even came back and
started to tell us what happened much to the annoyance of the
members who were taping the event.
The rain was on and
off for most of the day and it was not very warm. This could be
said for most of the shows this year, but it was a good turnout
and the organiser of the show was pleased with the turn out if
not a little surprised because of the weather. I think we left
at about 3.00pm feeling that this had been a good day, but could
have been better.
