Four cars met at Forge Lane at seven
o’clock. It was good to see the MG TF arrive but we all had
our day cars - a Rover and two VWs. We headed for Corrington
roundabout. Sue was in front and shot off like a bat out of
hell. Just before Junction 30 I saw a sign that said Jc 32
closed but I never had the time to read it all. So we turned
off at Jc 30 and got back on at the roundabout, making us
the last to arrive at Asda and meet the other two cars.
Everybody was spread all over Asda car park and phoning
around to meet.
We finally got going on the way to
Barry where we parked on the front and stopped for a shandy
and a chat while the children along with Brian spent a
little time in the arcades. Soon it was time to get the
chips and to be fair everybody was ready to eat. Taking our
chips to the knapp and setting up a table we soon had coffee
and chip rolls ready. I could not believe it when I turned
around there was Lorraine and some others sitting watching
telly on an Ipad that gave everybody a laugh. The Children
were playing on the beach and Karen took the opportunity to
light Katy’s Birthday cake and Andy chased them back so Katy
could blow out the candles.
Soon it was time to go
home and we all said our farewells and headed for home.
Weather was brill.
