The Gwent MG Club were invited to this show by the
Morris Minors Owners Club, South Wales Branch.
Ten cars turned
up at the services on the M4 at Junction 33 on the way to St
Fagan's. We had to be there by 10am and we were waiting for our
guests from the Luton and Dunstable MG club, but as time was
running out it was decided to push on without them, leaving only
two cars to meet the guests and bring them along to the show.
On arrival it was not long before we were putting up our
gazebo and flags, but as the wind was so strong we were
suffering a bit of damage from the wind so we decided to take
the gazebo down. The wind persisted for most of the day giving
it a strong chill factor.
Had the wind not been so strong it
would have been a great show with plenty of cars, lots to see at
the Museum and even fresh bread baking on site. Five cars came
from Luton and Dunstable MG club and it was not long before we
were all chatting. They had met some of our members on the
Saturday for a run and lunch so the ice had already been broken
- it was like one big club. The rest of the day was spent
talking to people who came and looked at the cars, walking
around the museum, chatting to the deputy Mayor, eating fresh
bread with home made jam and trying to keep warm. It was five
O’clock when we finally left for the journey home but not before
photos were taken of the two clubs together.
