This was the first run of 2011 for the Gwent MG owners Club
and we met at 11.00am in the car park of the Crown public
House in Pontllanfraith. 10 cars turned up for the short
journey to the hotel including 6 classic cars. As it was the
first run of the year there were a few cobwebs to clear from
the cars so although the speed was within the limits we did
not hang around. Some of the brave had their tops down and a
few heads were turned on the way by other cars.
On
arrival we all parked in the car park and went in for
coffee. Soon it was time to eat and we were shown to the
conservatory where the tables were laid out and a total of
24 places were used. The meal was very good with a choice of
three kinds of meat and loads of veg to which you could help
yourselves. After the meal we sat around chatting for
awhile before making our way home, splitting up at the Hotel
and heading off in different directions. It was slower on
the way home thankfully. It was good to see the work that
was carried out on the cars over the winter and Tony’s Stag
looked a stunner with its new carpets and cream leather
seats.
